Paper Conservator technician
Elise Cabral was introduced to conservation during a collections internship at the Chicago History Museum while she was pursuing an M.A. in Art History at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Since completing her degree, she has worked in the labs of Zukor Art Conservation in Oakland, CA, the University of Michigan Library, and the Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Cody, WY, focusing on the conservation of books and works on paper. She returned home to San Diego to join the BACC team as the Pre-Program Mellon Fellow in Paper Conservation and is now the Paper Conservation Technician. She loves having the opportunity to help care for the collections of the museums she grew up attending. Elise will be joining the class of 2025 in the art conservation graduate program at SUNY Buffalo State College.
