To schedule a consultation to discuss a painting or painted object treatment, please email info@bacc.org with as much of the following information in your message as possible:

  • Type of art (for example: is it a painting on canvas? Painting on wood? Oil painting? Acrylic painting?)
  • Artist, title, and dimensions, if possible
  • What questions or concerns you have
  • Your preferred method of consult (phone, video, or in-person)
  • Photos that show the item overall (front and back is ideal) and any detail shots to help us understand the issue or your concern
We offer in-person consultation services. During each consultation, the conservator will briefly examine the work (or any images you send in advance), discuss treatment options, and answer any related questions you have. If the work moves forward with further examination or treatment after the initial virtual consult, additional instructions will be provided that outline BACC's procedures for delivering artwork.

Join us for Community Consultations on Third Thursdays. Limited appointments available for 30 minute consultations with our paintings conservators. These sessions are perfect for individual collectors, galleries, and small organizations. Email info@bacc.org for available appointment slots and more information.

Fees:

In-person consult: $75 (30 min. session at BACC)
Full exam, treatment or analysis: $150 / hour rate

Please note: Institutional members receive a member rate of $125/hr. More information on becoming a member organization of BACC can be found here.
