workforce development

BACC's Cultural Preservation Workforce Development Initiative is a series of programs intended to build awareness among students from San Diego’s diverse communities about art conservation and  preservation of cultural heritage. With a special focus on STEAM programming that uses science and technology to nourish a better understanding of the arts, build awareness among students about conservation and related cultural fields and encourage students to consider the field of cultural preservation as a career path.

Goals:
  1. Build awareness among educators and students about conservation and its role in the larger arts ecosystem.
  2. Introduce the field of conservation and related fields as a career path to a more diverse audience.
  3. Demystify conservation and preservation processes for historically underserved communities.
