To schedule a consultation, please email info@bacc.org with as much of the following information in your message as possible:

  • Type of art (for example: Is it art on paper, a document, photograph or other ephemera? Is it framed or unframed?)
  • Artist, title or description, and approximate dimensions
  • What questions or concerns you have
  • Your preferred method of consult (phone, video, or in-person)
  • Photos that show the item overall (front and back is ideal) and any detail shots to help us understand your concern

We offer both remote (phone or video) and in-person consultation services. During each consultation, the conservator will briefly examine the work on paper (or any images you send in advance), discuss treatment options, and answer any related questions you have. If the work moves forward with further examination or treatment after the initial virtual consult, additional instructions will be provided that outline BACC's procedures for delivering artwork.

Fees for Conservation Work:
In-person consult: $85 (30 min. session at BACC)
Full exam, treatment or analysis: $165 / hour rate and $500 minimum per project

Please note: Institutional members receive a member rate of $140/hr. More information on becoming an institutional member of BACC can be found here.
